iPod Mini launches Friday
Calling response to the "off the charts," Apple today announced that it will be available in the U.S. on Friday, February 20 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apple Store, Apple's retail locations, and authorize resellers. Apple also said that more than 100,000 pre-orders have been placed for the iPod mini, which will be available worldwide in April.
The $250 iPod mini comes in a choice of a silver, gold, pink, blue or green, offering 4GB of storage capacity. It includes a belt clip, earbud headphones, an iPod mini power adapter, a 1.2m 30-pin to FireWire cable, a 1.2m 30-pin to USB 2.0 cable, and a CD with iTunes 4.2 for Mac and Windows computers. Optional accessories include the iPod Dock ($40), in-ear headphones ($40) and arm band ($30). Laser engraving is available at the Apple Store for $20 and can include two lines of text with up to 23 characters per line. Apple said the iPod mini will be available worldwide in April.
