I am soliciting G5 owners to donate me their unused or broken G5's for a new, and currently secretive, project. "Donate your G5 and I'll promise to use it for the good of myself. Once your G5 is used for the good of myself, I'll send you a picture of what it is doing in its new life."

    Great!

What's wrong with you guys? This seems like a great thing for all of us who are sick of Starbuck's and others that charge a fortune for WiFi. Free café WiFi is great and would you rather trash your old base stations that donate them to a non-profit project?

And to you who told them to buy their own, have you ever heard of non-profit? These guys are spending their free time doing this.

Good job! Let us all install Airport base stations outside every greedy Starbuck's. Make it nation-wide!

    Bad attitudes here

Yeah, what IS wrong with you people? They're a free community network, not a big corporation. I, for instance, would have considered sending them my old graphite Apple Base Station. Why? Because it's obsolete and sitting unused in the closet!! I long ago upgraded to a better, cheaper, more powerful wireless router by Linksys. The only reason the old base might not get sent to Boston is I already have plans to donate it to a local organization.
