Windows source code leaked

Microsoft said late Thursday that portions of its over the Internet: "some incomplete portions of the Windows 2000 and Windows NT4 source code had been 'illegally made available on the Internet.' Access to the source code could allow hackers to exploit the operating system and attack machines running Windows, which is used on hundreds of millions of computers worldwide."

    Source code itself

should not be a security risk. Look at the open source software that's out there. Poorly written source code being public, on the other hand, well... Guess it's not a surprise.

I'd love to see some of this garbage.

    RIPE

This source code is RIPE to produce many worms to take advantage of all those holes in the OS.

even if it's only 6 lines of code, there are probably 32 security holes in it

    LAME

Windows source code is so LAME, it's release on the internet will result in the dumbing down of programmers world-wide.

    Ugh!

You know, I thought I smelled something when I was surfing the net. Now I understand.

    Hmmm

It would be interesting to see what programmers worldwide will think of the code. It's probably a horrible mess of poorly written junk.

    Ha Ha!

(that bully on the Simpsons) Ha Ha!

Hey, MS, you'll never guess what -- Apple's source code was ALSO leaked out on the net! Yeah! In fact, it's been out there for YEARS. It's called UNIX (well, certain flavours thereof) and hackers have had oh around 20 *years* to come up with some viruses for it. So far, none.

Gee ... I wonder why "hackers" will find it so easy to "exploit" *your* source code when they don't seem to be able to exploit *ours*? Gosh, what a puzzler!
