RE:Vision Effects today released major upgrades to the Avid version of , its solution for adding motion blur as a post-process. Both updates offer significant performance improvements on multiprocessor systems and new AltiVec and G5 optimizations. Twixtor will speed up, slow down or frame rate convert image sequences by synthesizing unique new frames by warping and interpolating frames of the original sequence, while ReelSmart Motion Blur applies more natural-looking motion blur by automatically tracking every pixel. The Avid version of Twixtor is $330, while ReelSmart Motion Blur is $135.
