"no plans for any additional driver releases."
so, are they finally abandoning this hunk of junk? good riddance.
Well, I guess whoever is still left with the Matrox product, and who hopes for it to work with their G5, may have to wait the customer 2 years (if at all) to even hear if they plan on supporting it...
Seriously, my ownership of a Matrox RTMac has effectively soured me to this company for good, forever... If their level of support (read: none) to keep their products updated is indicative of other platforms they support, thenn I strongly suggest no one even bother ever buying any product from these jokers.
I wasted $1,000 on them, and received nothing in return - don't make the same mistake.
that they supported it to this point was the fact they had a major law suit on their a** about them stating that they would support OS X, and G5 gives them a nice reason to leave it after support Panther, they can wash their hands of this mess.
Where they messed up was with their STUPID senior engineer that told them the embedded chips will be fine with OS X but never looked further into it, then to top it off they hire cheat labor to create the drivers that had ZERO clue to OS X.
Let them die... "Lead Pipe to their head!"
What other PCI options are available along these lines. Who do you recommend?
what is that?
i reccomend your mom
she is cheap
and i fit into her PCI slot nicely :)
What other PCI card based solutions are available that compete with the card.
Yeah? Well I fit into your mom's PCI *and* AGP slot
So where's that slack-jawed f***** who keeps posting the oh-so-funny "RIPE" comments? I'll bet his parents finally made him go to bed...

Too little, too late
Waiting for compatible drivers from Matrox would have delayed our computer lab's migration to OS X by over a year and a half (not to mention our migration from Jaguar to Panther). Our Matrox card went into the closet, and it is doubtful that we will ever put it back into one of our machines. It is also unlikely that we will ever buy another product with the Matrox brand (for Mac or for Windows).
