iPod ad, iTMS out of sync

The New York Post reports that Apple's latest at the iTunes Music Store: "The latest commercials for the iPod digital-music player feature the song "Channel Surfing," by a DJ named Feature Cast. They are arresting spots, with black silhouettes of dancers with white iPods against vibrant fuchsia backgrounds. The song is upbeat and catchy."

    The NY Post? Great.

I'm surprised the headline wasn't something about aliens abducting itunes users.

Sounds like a simple oversight blown into a news story.

Isn't it an ad for an iPod anyway, not ITMS? Of course they're related, but -- remember -- Apple doesn't really care about DRM sales. They're just a means to the end of iPod-shilling.

    Fact Checking?

I downloaded "Channel Surfing" a week and a half ago from the iTMS.

    Re: FnC

Um, the ads are for both (otherwise someone needs to be marketing the itms at apple, and quick).

And isn't people wanting that song the same problem that people have with the RIAA and radio and the like. Apple force-feeds a song to us in a commercial, and everyone is supposed to go buy it then.

    More Fact Checking...

According to Catskills records, Feature Cast's label, the song has not yet been released, and was (briefly) posted to the iTMS prematurely.

    Rupert Murdoch

Ny Post = Fox (Faux) News = bullshit Rupert Murdoch propaganda media to further his super-rich elitist right wing agenda.

    Toilet paper is more accurate.

    "Rock Star" version

It's worth noting that the "Rock Star" song by NERD is also not available at iTMS in the version in the commercial. The slower, less interesting (to me) version is on the store, but the commercial uses a remix (which can be found on the SSX3 soundtrack in all its kickin' glory...

I still want David Sedaris's remaining books and the song "Life in a Northern Town" by Dream Academy!
