Jobs: digital media mogul
The New York Times says that ," noting that Jobs has "been built on his ability to anticipate the public's appetite for technical innovation...Indeed, one of Mr. Jobs's strategic strengths may be his understanding of the limits of technology. Some industry executives have wondered whether Mr. Jobs's breaking off the Disney negotiations was partly a prelude to efforts to take the top job at a Hollywood company - maybe even Mr. Eisner's job."

Jobs at Disney? No way
I think it's far more likely that this is the straw that breaks shareholder confidence in Eisner's management. Eisner gets booted out by a new CEO on a Pixar-friendly platform, Pixar is more amenable to striking a realistic deal since they won't get a third chance. Since the deal doesn't expire until 2006, there's still some time for all this to play out, meanwhile Pixar can pursue competitive bids at their leisure. Probably a lot will depend on how well Chicken Little does compared to Incredibles.
