Xbox Controller on OS X

A MacNN reader notes a Webpage that describes using an : "Although I've only tried this with an Xbox controller, I think you can do the same with PS2 and probably Gamecube controllers, but I like the double triggers of the Redmond unit. The other controllers are something to look into, but as for me I'm going to play some Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4."

    PSX also

You can also get those PlayStation One to USB adaptor cables. They also work flawlessly on Mac OSX but only some games do support them, like Tony Hawk 4.

    What about PC'S

I wonder if it would also work in a similar way with computers running Windows.

    re halo

theoretically, yes, so long as you can map keys to buttons, and it appears that you can. the problem is that they turned the difficulty up due to ease of targeting with a mouse/keyboard combo. So i wouldn't you play online with it.

    So...

... if the xbox is going PPC based, there'll be a XBOX add on then to play the games?

I always wondered why Apple didn't do a deal with Nintendo to run GameCube games on the iMac, etc. It's running similar hardware, etc. and sales of the gaming unit isn't what makes money, rather the game sales, it would open Nintendo's market up ... slightly?

    Xbox controller/Halo/Mac

"Anyone know if it works with Halo for Mac?"

Yeah, I do. It doesn't. I've had the USB adapter cable and the HID drivers for a while now, and there is no way I can see how to make this work. There is no gamepad to keypad mapping, so that's out. I've emailed MacSoft and have asked when is gamepad support going to be added to Halo, and received a non-answer answer. Notice in Halo that the "Gamepad" selection button under setup is dimmed out, so that at least gives me hopes that some day they will get around to it.
