iLife, GarageBand reviews

The Washington Post has posted a concludes: "The GarageBand name hides a certain irony -- it's hard to make a song sound any way but slick and seamless in this program. But this same relative sophistication (especially all the effects-processing options) opens up some fascinating possibilities for anybody with a keen ear for sampling and hip-hop production values. You can have a lot of fun here."

    Anyone ?

Anyone has tried Garage Band yet ? I'd be curious to find out how good (or how poor) this app is. I was considering buying iLife 04 just for GB but since Logic Express is about to come out, I think I'll go for emagic. I know we're not talking about the same thing but LE might be more suitable for me. The guitar amp simulation in GB sounds great though. So for 49 bucks, I might as well get both !

    re:????????????

not really negative (some postive) but quotes like:

"The slide show feature, meanwhile, continues to omit captions, so you'll need to remember what set of ruins you saw each day in June when you treat your family to the summer-vacation-in-Italy slide show."

is maybe just telling it like it is? (waiting for my new iMac to start using this stuff!)

You've made more than one post recently regarding this new name you've nicknamed it.

Don't be such a DOLT, if you have something that's 'BLAND' about it, mention it, if you don't, make a more productive post!

    quality

What do people expect to get for $10 an app?

iLife is not going to have every feature for every person.

These are entry level consumer apps.

Here was my e-mail to him

I should have known by the title that this article would be full of hostility, you didn't even know to use a lower case i in iLife. Jeesh!

However, it becomes much more enjoyable to read if I imagine the voice of Andy Rooney speaking the words. However, his journalism is full of information and funny insights to somebody's oversights. Your journalism is just slanted against the software which is a great bargain and incredibly useful. If this were on PC I would bet it would have a glowing review and there would be no mention of compatibility because "Why would anybody use anything but?!!"

Without the Andy Rooney voice, this article is an overly apparent biased yawner.
