    Sounds good

Personally, I think there's more than 60 pages worth of new material that should be covered ... but what the heck, I enjoyed the first one a great deal and still refer to it frequently (one of the VERY VERY FEW computer books that has been able to make THAT claim) ...

    audiobook-yeah, but why?

    > think it will make it to the audiobooks section of iTunes Music Store?

Maybe, but the dead tree version will be better - this book, like the computer it talks about, is highly visual. Lots of timelines, pictures, tables.

    Rehash

The downloadable preview is an exact lift from the old 1998 version. No info at all about what's new in 2.0.

That's a great way to sell an update - NOT!

    rehash? Think again

I'm the author of the book, and I assure you that the 2nd edition isn't the same as the 1st edition. The preview has only the first two pages of each chapter. It's designed to give potential buyers a taste of the entire breadth of the book, not explain in detail what's new to readers of the 1st edition. Every single timeline in the book has been updated, there are three entirely new chapters, there are hundreds of new photos and quotes, and more than 60 pages of new material in all. Next time you're in a bookstore, flip through the 2nd edition. If you still don't like what you see, don't buy it. But please don't criticize if you haven't even given it a chance.
