NPR radio show on Macs

NPR's Talk of the Nation has a feature on : "Over the years, the small beige box has undergone numerous transformations (think Bondi blue, ruby and sage.) Macintosh design has influenced everything from paper-clip holders to vacuums. NPR's Neal Conan and guests look at the 20-year history of the Macintosh and discuss how a 17-pound cube, a mouse and a smiley face changed the face of computing." Guests include Jeff Raskin. The 30-minute radio show can be heard via RealPlayer.

Enough with this realaudio c***, this is a piece about the Mac, can't they get a clue and setup Quicktime servers? The frickin server is FREE, what more do they want!

Quicktime server

Sure they can set up a Quicktime server, but they still have to pay for bandwidth. It seems that NPR gets support to offer Real and WMP, they tried QT but dropped it about 2 years ago.

I was bemused by the PC bigot who called in saying that Mac users seem defensive of their Macs and attack PCs any chance they get, but that PC users seem indifferent to the Mac. I am not sure on what plantet this person has been hybernating, but all you have to do is pull out a PowerBook in a corporate IT department and you can see just how "indifferent" PC users are to Macs and Mac users. That is like saying that Cardinals fans hate the Cubs, but Cubs fans are indifferent to the Cardinals.

NPR's Money Problems

NPR used to stream some of their stuff out in Quicktime AND Real formats, but they cut out Quicktime for what I assume was the labor involved in supporting both formats. Quicktime used to have a built-in link to NPR broadcasts.

Has anyone seen the news about the $200 million that Ray Kroc's wife left NPR?

Hey Zealots!

I did not say that PC users are indifferent. I just said they do not hate Mac users like how Mac users hate the PC users. As a result of this hate and other bahaviors, Mac users are branded as fanatics and zealots by many PC users and also by some Mac users. This image is not help Apple move forward in general. That is all I am saying.

Steve apparently think PC users are worthwhile people to go after (iPod, iTunes for Windows, Switch ads, etc). So zealots, calm the f*** down!

a zealot as you and many dumbucks call us affect Apple computer sales? If I see a guy driving a jaguar and he's a prick, does it make me not want the jaguar? No! It makes me wish he didn't have it and I did. Get some logic, fuckwad.

We are not zealots, our computers are not snappy, windows does suck, it's users are just lemmings and are for the most part pigeonholed into using that trashy OS. I'm certain, if most windows users had a Mac for ONE WEEK they would switch.

GUARANTEED. Of course they are also, for the most part, just plain lazy and used to being sold s***.

I remember when I started using my mac, it was like opening my eyes for the first time, it was an impactual experience which I love to share with other users of PC's, it's just that they don't get it... because they are still BLIND.
