    iPods

People are reactionary and blind. When you see a 15GB iPod for $300 (or so) and then a 4GB iPod for only $50 less (iPodWhine) you may wonder why anyone would buy the itty bitty Pod (or ibPod). Smaller is always more expensive - so this is no suprise at all. The main question is, do you want to pay for this smaller size or do you want the wholesale 15GB (or bigger) Pod.

Looks like Sony missed out on repeating its success with the WalkMan. Apple owns this market now - its Apple's to lose. Even with all the misinformation and FUD floating around - Apple's deals with HP & others means they are working to increase their dominance.

    What about Sony?

Who would buy a Sony any way.
The iPod is king, and as mentioned above Apple's pricing is well within the realms of reality.

As for whiners? shut the F**K up and stay in walmart.

    Apology

I apologize to Steve Jobs right here for my whinning about the iPod mini price tag. Compared to the market, I now see, the other companies are far more greedy than you are. This solidifies my disdain for anything SONY. It began way back when they had to come out with SACD as opposed to the DVD-A format which by the way is far superior to SACD. I can still hold my head high and say I am happy I switched to Apple, and am with you for the long hall. In Steve we should trust. .

    The point is not

that the iPod mini is a good value compared to the competition, the point is it costs $250. People were looking for a low-end ($100-$200) iPod from apple. Apple didn't deliver.

Apple should have come out with an iPod with the exact same form factor but 2 GB for $150-$200. The iPod is already small enough- IMHO smaller doesn't provide enough benefit if they are going to hike up the price an extra $100.

    Yeah

Yeah, all you poor people, stay in Walmart. We don't want you cheap people. We only want white, rich, stylish people. Oh, why do I look like a regular geek not unlike that of a PC user? Well, STFU, you PeeCee weenie!

Also, how come you are not driving a Mercedes or BMW when you are using the Mercedes/BMW of computers?

    Well, I don't need/can't afford/insert whatever reason here a Mercedes/BMW as my transportation tool.

Why are you bitching about non-Mac users then who chose Linux or Windows or cheaper PCs?

Uh... shut up you Microsoftie PeeCee weenie. I am much better than you at making up rhyming insults!!!

    iPod mini if fine

The problem is all of these 15 year olds who wahted a cheaper iPod, and Apple didn't deliver. That being said, I won't buy one. My next iPod won't be for some time, unless my trusty 5GB dies on me. 2 years and counting...
