From the study:
"The J2EE/Linux interviewees in the study represent IT shops that prefer open systems to the platforms
of a single vendor...These shops reject Microsoft as the most obvious single-vendor software
platform provider today. However, they are also likely to turn away from other single-vendor software
platform providers, including IBM, BEA, Oracle and Sun even if those platforms incorporate
Linux."
Yet the study included BEA - a very expensive choice - as the application platform. I trust this study as much as I would trust an Apple-funded study on the costs of OS X vs. Microsoft.
The bigger you are the more paranoid you get. It won't be one force that takes them down but multitudes of little forces over time that will do the job.

Move our apps from a stable, free, and ethically sound platform to a buggy, overpriced, SPAWN OF HADES pile of code. Hey Bill...sell your stock now while it is still worth something.
