    thank god

Putting WMA into iTunes and iPod would be pathetic. It is far inferior to AAC.

    Thurrot is an IDIOT

This proves he is a liar - he just wanted to type "superior Windows Media format" in his newsletter.

    What a tool.

    Apple would object

WMA support would make sense to Microsoft and HP - Microsoft would get license fees and HP might sell some more HP-pods (What use is a portable music player if you can't use it with BuyMusic.com, right?). Apple would stand to lose big bucks on iTMS purchases, which was one of the big linchpins in the Apple-HP deal. So I'm left to conclude that a lack of WMA support follows from Apple's objection, as opposed to HP not being willing or able to provide such support.

    Whew

While WMA support on iPod would appeal to some users, in the end, it's better this is not true because giving WMA support to the iPod is like giving it an STD.

    I'm impressed

I thought Apple was faltering and playing along with MS regarding music formats.

I guess its all out war.

    Cheers,

    MS

I bet MS bought off HP or threatened to raise their cost of windows licensing since this threatens the planned MS music store.
