Super drive clone utility

Shirt Pocket today announced , a new disk duplication utility for Mac OS X. SuperDuper can be used as a flexible disk copying utility, offering functions such as "Safety Clone" which allows users to "install potentially risky drivers or system updates without fear of creating an unbootable or unworkable system – or losing access to your critical personal data." The $20 software runs on Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later and will be release on January 14 along with a limited "clone-only" version that will allow users to backup and clone drives for free.

    SuperDuper!

I've been part of the testing process so I have some experience with the application. I must say I love this app. Really!!! Bruce and Dave have done a terrific job (IMVHO) making it as user friendly as possible yet very customizable (to say the least). It's a great app for both beginners and power users. I already recommended the app to numerous people around me.

    Robustness

Being part of the team, I hate to post about our own product, but I think this is a more robust solution than CCC, in the sense that it has more capabilities. I think you'll find both to be equally "safe", if that's what you mean.

In SuperDuper!, you have file-by-file inclusion/exclusion options; symlinking; useful "copy scripts" that can save your choices for the future and many other options.

You can see all the various options, and browse the interface, by downloading a trial copy. Give it a shot -- I think you'll be glad you did.
