Windows app closely mimics Apple\'s Exposé

updated 12:50 am EST, Fri January 9, 2004

WinExposé released

A Windows software maker has released a utility called to the Microsoft operating system. "A keyboard shortcut or moving the mouse to a screen hot-spot shows all windows, whether open or minimised, in a tiled display of scaled images." WinExposé closely mimics the animations used in Exposé. It costs $10, and is available for Windows ME through XP.

    Give them some credit

If you were running a site and you would know it is not very hard to be 10 hours late. The news is here, and got noted.

Anyhow...this thing is a bit strange. I wonder if Apple will go after them.

    Go get them

So, any bets on how long it will take Apple's team of lawyers to shut that company down? I'm giving them 2 days at the most personally. I mean look at it! The control panel is almost a direct rip off of the Exposé pref pane! As is everything else!

    Not only

should Apple go after them but they should seek some financial compensation as well. This is a total ripoff.

    Anyone actually buy it?

It occurs that this may just be a rip off maybe? No demo download that I could see, you had to buy it I think.

    So anyone buy it?

    Lame thing

All it does is take screenshots of the windows and "shape" those. It looks like a full screen flash animation. They are not updated live and you cannot drag to them.

    Typical

Typical Windows world: no inspiration, just ripping-off Apple's idea's. They're even too lame to find a different name. C'mon !

    Of course...

You knew it was going to happen, I'm surprised it took this long. I wonder if Apple can protect this feature?
