SMART Board 8.1.1
software for Mac OS X is designed for use with all SMART Board interactive whiteboards and Sympodium interactive lecterns, the free upgrade supports Mac OS X Panther and features the Gallery, a unique, image-management system that groups templates to be used as screen backgrounds with associated images. Other features include capture of all events to a .MOV file, new screen shade/spotlight functions to highlight specific portions of the screen, and cross-platform compatibility.
Users of SMART Board can simply touch the surface of the SMART Board interactive whiteboard to access and control computer-based information. They can write notes in electronic ink over any application, using a finger or stylus, including multimedia and Web-based materials, and they can edit, save, print or post notes in HTML for future reference.
The included Notebook software is ideal for interactive lessons, brainstorming, storyboarding, project planning and presentations. Users can move, group, resize, rotate or recolor objects, make any object transparent and attach hyperlinks. SMART Board software also integrates with QuickTime® Player, enabling users to instantly write in electronic ink over moving or still video in films, digital video and storyboards.
Users can now share files easily among users of different platforms. SMART Board software says it is the first interactive whiteboard software to offer cross-platform compatibility with Mac OS computers and Microsoft Windows®, UNIX and Linux operating systems. Notebook software features a new XML-based, cross-platform file format (.XBK), which means Notebook files created on one operating system can be accessed on another.
