Phelios today announced a major update to Helix, its $20 "chopper rescue mission game." This update consists of a significant amount of changes, including an overhaul to the control system. The new and improved Helix now incorporates the following: a new Weapon system; improved Interface with integrated weapon system enabling the player to view and select weapons; new aliens; improved controls; USB game-pad support; new sound effects; and smaller download size.
SilverCreator v1.1 fixes dozens of bugs and adds a redesigned sound manager, sprite editor, and prompt window; improved memory management, more sprites, new scripting commands, expanded sound support, undoable graphics filters, and much more. SilverCreator offers game development with event-based scripting language, full QuickTime support, fast sprite system support transparency, internet gameplay via sprockets, and other features. HEURIS will demo its new Indie HD Toolkit in the JVC booth at Macworld. The Indie HD toolkit will feature a series of software tools developed by HEURIS that lets videographers bring footage, shot with the JY-HD10U camera, into Final Cut Pro. The new Indie HD toolkit replaces MPEG Power Professional HD with an easy-to-use XportHD MPEG-2 encoding software and will be available for under $500. It includues three software tools: the XtractorHDV import utility, the all-new XportHD MPEG-2 encoding software and the XtoHD player utility.
