Apple retail store notes
Apple's flagship retail store on North Michigan Avenue in Chicago is the , averaging 30,000 visitors per week. The Chicago Sun-Times also notes that Apple is selling an iPod "every 10 minutes" and that Apple currently has flood of applicants for its retail positions: "'There's even a waiting list to work for Apple. "We have 17,000 applicants for 1,000 retail positions,' [Apple VP Ron] Johnson said. 'It's harder to get a job at an Apple store than it is to get admitted to Stanford University,' quips Johnson. There's a sign of the economic times."

Too bad they aren't hiring anyone who went to Stanford. Most of those Apple "Geniuses" are complete morons who know less about Macs than an average 6 year old.

Nice language. Do you usually walk up to people and call them morons, or do you just hide behind the anonymity of forums to sling mud?

The Apple store on Michigan Ave is a great place to relax. You can stay on the first floor and go to the theater which is in the back and sit and relax or you can go upstairs and find a workstation (about 20) and sit and surf and browse. I took my DV camera a couple of weeks ago and made a DVD.

Many of the store employees have a really snooty attitude. I had to deal with a "genius" in the Valley Fair mall that was particularly unpleasant.
Some of the employees are really nice, but they're certainly not a majority.

You have to remember that most geniuses are delivering bad news to customers. "It's going to cost ____ to fix your lcd screen. And it's not covered under warranty because you dropped it." Also, a lot of customers try to play 'stump the genius', which I can imagine is degrading - especially when most genious DO know more than most and are actually Apple Certified Technicians.
Also, given your response, I can only imagine your attitude even going into a store to begin with. If you go in, acting like you have an attitude, most people are going to give it right back to you. That's just human nature.

If you're not happy with the way an Apple Store employee is dealing with you then report them to the store manager.
