Verbatim pushes 8x DVDR
Pushing the envelope for speed and storage capacity, is now shipping 8x DVD+/-R (DVDR) to channel partners. The company says it's "on a solid path [to] deliver 8.5GB Double-Layer DVDR media." Pilot production for such media is reportedly already underway. The company aims to ensure maximum compatibility with DVD players already in use by working with standards groups and manufacturers to develop advanced media for compatibility testing.
