  • Horizon 1.3 (HZ) is a BBC Model B emulator for Mac OS X: "it has fairly good compatibility with original BBC software, allowing you to play titles such as Elite without problems. The Mac OS X version adds an improved GUI and significantly improved sound." Emulator Enhancer 1.4 (EE) adds many additional features to this emulator, including support for USB joysticks, full screen mode, and bilinear filtering, as well as substantially improved performance.   • Acrux Software has released X-Builder 1.0.3, an update to the company's flagship authoring tool for OS X. Version 1.0.3 is a maintenance release with minor bug fixes and improvements to the authoring tool specially designed for creating multimedia projects and applications for Mac OS X.   • Laurent Colson has released MusicMath 2.21, a Mac OS X compatible version of the freeware which converts music values (BPM, semi-tones, samples, ms, Hz, Timestretch %). It has five separate conversion functions, including Temp, Transpose, Delay, Samples, and Tap. [2.0MB]

  • stupidFish has released an update to its desktop search interface utility shadowGoogle 3.0. Version 3.0 adds customizable search engines, a customizable show/hide hotkey and Panther compatibility. The US $8 shareware is free for a week. [400KB]

  • VLC Controller 2.1 (VLCC), MPlayer Controller 2.1 (MPC), and DVD Controller 1.0 (DVDC) offer commands to control the applications using the Bluetooth-based Salling Clicker, which allows users to their phone and/or PDA to control their Mac. [VLCC, MPC, DVDC]

  • G-Force 2.5 brings both WMP and iTunes for Windows support, cosmetic and stability improvements, better image/movie/sprite support, faster boot time, many new configs, pixel doubling, new config type called DeltaField Unions, and better fullscreen support. The free udio visualization plug-in for media players can also visualize auxiliary or "line-in" audio. [2.1MB]
