I'd prefer a tiny patcher. Anyone care to do a binary comparison and make one? I'm sure we're talking about one or a few bytes here.

Apple should provide a small updater through the Software Update mechanism.

What about those who have MPEG2 playback through the purchase of FCP? It doesn't show in the download purchases section... :(

be an automatic update? They've done automatic updates of the MPEG2 plug-in before. Having to go through this is a pain in the butt.
