MacSoft announces Unreal Tournament 2004 for Mac

updated 11:10 am EST, Fri December 5, 2003

Unreal Tournament 2004

(UT04) for the Macintosh. "We’ve been working on the Mac version of UT04 right alongside the Windows version. Mac users should get a nice surprise when the official ship dates are announced." The sequel to last year's popular Unreal Tournament 2003, UT04 takes gladiator combat to a new level with the addition of land and air vehicles, an arsenal of new weaponry, new arenas, epic battlefields and the challenge of the Assault and Onslaught game types. It also adds the UnrealTV broadcast system, which allows hundreds of people to log on and watch famous combatants duke it out, and the return of the mighty Skaarj as a playable race. UT04 is due midway through the first quarter of 2004.

    Nice!

I'm happy to hear the game is coming to the Mac, and maybe not a year late. What I'd like from Apple now, is to offer video cards comparable to the PC as they come out. THe fact that PC users are enjoying 256 MB vid cards while Mac users are still paying a premiums for 64 MB and 128 MB cards is very sad. If this wasn't a fixed pattern I could excuse it. All Apple would have to do is lift a few fingers to make sure this stops happening to their loyal customers.

like what? The many Warcraft III, Age of (***), and SWGB strategy games. Or the many Diablo 2, NWN, and Icewind Dale games?

    RE: Nice

Apple does not make the vid cards, so they still have to rely on the vid card makers for that stuff.
