Jobs on 2004 strategy

As a part of its "How to Succeed in 2004" report, Business 2.0 has published a short article by Apple CEO Steve Jobs on how to "." Jobs says, "learning about new technologies and markets is what makes this fun for me. [...] Five or six years ago, we didn't know anything about video editing, so we bought technology to learn how to do that. A few years later, we didn't know anything about MP3 players, but our people looked at what was out there with a critical eye and combined that with what we already knew about design, user interface, materials, and digital electronics." Other business executives also contributed to the report, with articles on various strategies used by their respective companies.

    Oh Great...

Jobs let the secret of Think Diffrent out! Buy up someone who's more advanced then use thier technology better then they are! (As opposed to MS who buys a technology so it doesn't compete.)

    good words from Jobs.

And who gave the "designers" a palatte to work with? He is no joker. He is the guiding force behind Apple.

    rubbis? a long time ago,

jobs said that his job at apple was to "hire talented people, then keep the world away from them so they can do what you hired them to do"

looks like he's still at it. good. and look at how much credit jon ives and others have gotten. but BUSINESS 2.0 is going to ask the BUSINESS head of the company how to do it all.

And people from the desert don't ski very well. Prove me wrong. Please! Why would Apple have the best collaboration software or anything like exchange server given their extremely minimal corporate presence? Making that comparison is just silly.
