    SuperDrive Upgrade

This a good deal although to pay ~ $150 for installation is a tad costly considering the same Superdrive is at OWC for $150.

    My 2¢'s.

    how hard can it be?

i thought the whole point of a "side door" for G4/G3s was for easy install! seriously people. open door, swap in super drive, close door. done. buy a PC otherwise

    all were fooled

All the Mac sites have seemed to be fooled by this as an actual news story!

There is nothing special about these drives from them. You can buy these drives from any vendor (for much cheaper) and install them yourself.

Apple has step by step instructions on how to do it yourself. It is quite easy.

    more like iMac price...

That seems more like an appropriate price for installing one - if I do it onsite (I'm an Apple certified tech, and I'll install one in any of the machines listed or an iMac G4 on the customer's site for about that price - and you're only without your machine for about a half hour...)
