Apple seeing rebound?


Apple UK's managing director Mark Rogers says that Apple is starting to see a , which Macworld UK reports was confirmed by reports from the MacExpo showfloor, noting first-hand anecdotes in the advertising, photography, and graphic design markets: "We are finding it harder to fill positions now; it seems like there are more jobs than people, which has to be a good indication that things are getting better. The market is definitely more buoyant."

    I've got a year old education in Graphics AND 3d animation rotting in my skull... now I'm not claiming to be Frank Lloyd Wright jr. here, but I'm better than half the goobers out there designing most of this c***! Where, exactly, are these "unfilled positions" I'm hearing about?

    No, seriously, where do I look for them?

    it depends on market...

    live in a market where design is sought after and respected and supported by adequate pay for time spent, and yes, there's plenty of work to be found. but now i'm in the deep rural south (having left a large metro area with plenty of networking), and there AIN'T JACK. okay, slight exaggeration, but not much.

    3D animation? Pfffft... like, who can't animate these days, buddy? That's one of the degress I have as well... along with video which is what I found a job doing. You could always do what every other 3D graduate does and try to start a game company.

    If you're having trouble finding a design job, why not call a firm like Aquent? (used to be MacTemps) or Hire Knowledge (used to be mac specialists).
