HealthWare to develop Dental Management Software

HealthWare Dental Software
The founder of HealthCare Communications, the original developer of DentalMac for the Macintosh, has announced the formation of HealthWare Corp (Lincoln, Nebraska). Founder Michael B. Edwards says that will be developing dental office management software using the Mac OS X Cocoa API‚s, C++ and Java: "HealthWare for Dentists will take advantage of the unique capabilities of OS X, including stability, security, and graphics for digital imaging and video. The software will integrate seamlessly with digital radiography applications, such as the aMac Digital Radiography System from KTI."

DentalMac rocks, but is 10 years out of date. They have an uphill battle to break back into the market, but after seeing the c*** available now, I think they could leapfrog the competition by leveraging OS X.

Our office has had many problems with MediMac. For years they promised a new version (the elusive 4.0 release) that never came. Now they are promising an OSX release. If it were not for the stability of the Mac and lower cost of operation, we would have switched to Windows years ago.
