- The freeware CPUfrequency Scripts run a shell script to display the actual processor CPU speed: "for some reason, my computer thought that my 867mhz G4 chip was only capable of running at 533mhz. Evidently, it is tied into Power Management." [20KB]

- Chaotic Software has released QuickTime Tiler 1.5, which can display QuickTime media files on your desktop: users can easily create mosaics of movies and images for display on your screen.
