    What a joke

Any version of Windows is substandard... it would be hard to imagine what they could do if they actively declawed it! Come to think of it, it might improve it.

    Yeah...

where did these guys learn about business? So if one of your biggest customers wants you to change a few things, that you usually make billions on, you will instead create smoething even useful for them?
Hm...interesting. MS should be friggen running after them trying to make sure that the EU does not get pissed...but what do I know.

With so much cash in my pocket, I might too tell them to go s**** themselves. Why would I put in extra work for something that clearly "works" here in the US.

    I've predicted

ever since Munich ditched M$ and went with IBM/Linux, it won't be long before other EU countries do the same.

"Sub Standard version of windows"? c***, how much more can they make it suck.

    Substandard Windows...

...between this and the Linux Security FUD, they are just asking for it.

Like when a politician's caught smoking crack, Leno and Letterman don't have to work too hard that night.

    "Sub"standard...

I think what they meant when they said "substandard" is "standards-compliant" -- apparently the two terms have the same meaning if you work at Microsoft.

Gee, remove monopolistic c*** and intrusive features from Windows? Sounds more like an improvement to me.

    Substandard Windows

"Microsoft said it would be forced to offer European consumers a substandard version of Windows if the European Union makes it rewrite its operating system"

What this means is that the EU currently gets a superior version of Windows as compared to what the users in the U.S.A. get. If the EU is successful, MS will have to offer the same version to the EU that they currently offer the United States customers.
