how long it is on linux?!

it will criticize Linux for taking too long to fix bugs

They could perhaps criticize Apple (ie. Jaguar STILL doesn't have those fixes!!), but you can count the fix time for Linux in HOURS, instead of weeks like MS and Apple have.

    Duh?

Ummm, some of Microsoft's security holes have been around for years, and they constantly have to tell people who find the holes not to anounce it publically so they can fix it before it gets out... This process can take quite a while...

At least with Linux it's much easier to know when an error exists and ANYBODY who knows what they're doing can fix it...

    copy protection

this will never stop file sharing of MP3s. all you have to do is play the CD from an external source, and encode the incoming audio stream to AIFF or MP3. sure, it'll take longer, but anything to beat down the multi-national corporations (genocide of the starving nations)

Except the difference is that MS's security holes are easily exploitable are exploited all the time. Apple's are near impossible without existing access to the machine, and have yet to be exploitable. If Apple's holes were as bad as they say, you'd think someone would have broken into a Jag machine by now.

    Perceived Security Flaws?

Seems there's nothing perceived about it.

If Microsoft made the Death Star, you'd be able to see straight through it via the billions of thermal exhaust ports.

    Watch Out, M$

Hee hee. Just wait 'til Micro$oft saturates the web, print media, and airwaves with this "Linux takes too long to fix security bugs" campaign. The hackers and script kiddies are gonna come at 'em even harder just to shut their mouths. I predict that one of 'em will even come up with a nasty new virus just for spite.

    Perception

This can only work against MSFT. They should keep a low profile and close their mouths. Silence is the best policy for them now. Of course, they will never be able to do that, so, let the games begin.

    MS shouldn't open that..

Have any Linux vulnerabilities, which are less severe in nature than Windows, been around for 10 YEARS? THAT'S WHAT MOST OF THE MS VULNERABILITIES HAVE LASTED. Started with NT4 and affect even Server 2003. That's 10 years, folks. Same vulnerabilities, 10 years to fix.

Imagine if GM made a car that had broken locks for 10 years. Would you buy another GM? h*** no. Yet, you blindly buy Windows....
