    I'll tell you why Tablet

I'll tell you why Tablet PC is a failure. PC users are cheap mother f*ckers, that's why.

If most of them think Mac are too expensive, how many of them will scoff at overpriced laptop with half the speed.

    Where is Apple's Tablet

Hmm... interesting. Wouldn't expect tablets to nose-dive. I'm sure there is a niche or vertical market for tablets. Where is Apple's Tablet?

    re: overpriced tablets

"If most of them think Mac are too expensive, how many of them will scoff at overpriced laptop with half the speed."

remember when steve was asked why they didn't get into the tablet market, and he replied (paraphrased) "...and people accuse US of being too niche market."

no wonder everyone copies what steve does and says. and those that don't will regret it. hate to see the day when he retires from silicon valley altogether.

    b/c M$ can't in-o-vate

This is an idea that M$ pretty much came up on it's own and it's a flop. All M$ is good at is stealing from others, try to produce it's own idea, please, really. How many people predicted this? I like the above users comment about PC users being super cheap, good call. I would not be surprised if someone else came along with a better implementation of it and find it to be a success. Maybe something like a flat screen and a keyboard attaeched to it and some kind of pointing device, oh, and make it fold up like a, um, like a, oh, like a notebook, what a concept. ;)

    It's Just DUMB

Face it - the tablet PC is just a pretty dumb idea overall. Anyone who can type can type faster than they write. Anyone who can scribble on a piece of paper can scan the page into their computer later. Anyone who needs to walk around with a touchscreen application on their person uses a PDA. So what exactly can/does this thing actually DO that would be/is better than what we got?

    wet paper bags

...again prove to be too difficult for M$ to innovate out of...

M$, again leading the way down a blind alley. They should stick to their strengths:

    1. Engulf and devour
    2. Embrace, extend, extinguish
    3. Fear, uncertainty, doubt

    Tablet PC's for suckers

How many of you seen that WebMD commercial?

Where nurses carry the TabletPC's and they casually carry it around like a clipboard?

Now is that scene out of pure fantasy or what? Yeah I like to see people carry $1000 piece of equipment like that around, 80% of them will be broken or dropped before the end of the month.
PDA makes sense, since it cost only 2 to 5 hundred dollars, depending on how much power you need. Plus its small and easily portable. Tablet PC too big to carry around, not powerful enough to be useful PC and too expensive to be a clipboard replacement.

    Why it combed

    Facts:

Only 10% of the people can draw.

tablet PC exposes the user's pornography and games at a board (bored) meeting.

PC users are fixated at MHz/GHz numbers, so the Pentium III just wasn't happening.

Color gives a painting life; shading and value contrast gives a sketch dimension. The tablet PC falls well short of it.

People who can draw and depend on drawing for a living use the Macintosh.

Napkins are abundant, light weight, and requires no batteries.

People in Redmond, Washington are bloody idiots.

    well said.

I'm living in Bellevue, WA.. saw a couple tablet PCs on demo in COMPUSA and BestBuy... noone was promoting them.. just sitting there any collecting dust.

Meanwhile, I always heard that they were giving away those poor tablet PCs to people who went to some M$ trade-shows
