AudioCD Player Dockling 1.2.0 released
AudioCD Player Dockling 1.2.0 is a new version of the free dockling for playing audio CDs directly from the dock in Mac OS X. Version 1.2.0 adds CDDB protocol support, support for multiple drives, improved AutoPlay, rearranged controls for quicker access, and system-friendly access to CDs.
Entourage Email Archive 1.5b1 released
Entourage Email Archive 1.5b1 is a new version of the $15 utility for archiving emails and attachments in Microsoft Entourage. Version 1.5b1 now detects the class of email (incoming or outgoing) and handles the received/sent date automatically and adds additional improvements and fixes relating to FileMaker Pro integration.

Installer VISE 7.3 expands OS X support
MindVision Software has released Installer VISE 7.3, a new version of its installer software for developers that brings expanded options for installations on Mac OS X. Version 7.3 adds the ability to install files to both Mac OS X and its Classic environment, enhanced user authentication, and gestalts for checking user privledges and other settings in Mac OS X.
E3: New Master of Orion III info
QuickSilver Software has unveiled a web site devoted to releasing new information, screenshots, ship renders, and other materials for Master of Orion III. The game, which is being shown in MacSoft's booth at E3, is expected to be released in early 2002.
SMTP Deux 1.0.0.b01: 4D component
Deep Sky Technologies has released SMTP Deux 1.0.0.b01, a 4D component that adds support for the SMTP protocol from directly within 4D. SMTP Deux runs on top of Deek Sky's TCP Deux 4D component, which is also currently in beta.
E3: WarCraft III Trailer released
Blizzard Entertainment has released an E3 2001 Cinematic Trailer for its upcoming Mac/PC role-playing strategy game, WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos. The trailer is in Bink format and requires the Bink Player to be viewed on the Mac.
PocketDock 2.1 for Mac OS X released
PocketDock 2.1 is a new version of the $20 utility for Mac OS X to organize and launch applications, documents, web links, and e-mail addresses. Version 2.1 adds support for moving and copying files from within PocketDock and between PocketDock and the Finder, placement of links from PocketDock onto the Dock, drop launching of documents from the Finder onto PocketDock application links, drop launching of PocketDock file links on applications in the Finder and the Dock, and other improvements, performance enhancements, and bug fixes. Omni to show OS X games at WWDC
Apple has selected The Omni Group to showcase three of its high-profile games--Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K. 2, Oni, and Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force--running on Mac OS X at next week's Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Jose, CA. The games will be displayed on 733 MHz G4s with NVIDIA's GeForce2 and GeForce3, ATI's Radeon, Logitech's MouseMan Wheel Optical mouse, and Harman Kardon's SoundSticks and iSub. The entire Omni Engineering staff will be on hand to answer questions about games, Cocoa, and porting applications to Mac OS X.

Frontier 7, Manila beta for Mac OS X
UserLand has released a beta of Frontier 7 and Manila for Mac OS X, a scalable Web content management system that enables end-user content management through a simple browser interface. With this release of Manila, UserLand also brings support for the next generation Internet standards SOAP, XML-RPC, and RSS to the Mac platform.
Digital Art Contest: Call for entries
Entries are now being accepted for the 4th Annual Macworld Expo Digital Art Contest. An independent panel of judges from the digital art community will review the entries and choose 30 images from "Student" and "Non-Student" categories to be included in a special Macworld Expo Digital Art Gallery, which will premiere at this summer's Macworld Expo New York and travel across the country as an exhibition to art galleries, universities, and Macworld Expo San Francisco 2002. The deadline to enter is June 1, 2001.

MacHack 2001 seeks volunteers
MacHack, the annual conference for leading edge developers, has filled the available openings for free student registrations. Diablo II v1.06b patch posted to Battle.net
The Diablo II v1.06b upgrade patch, available from Battle.net, fixes a bug that prevented saving for Open Battle.Net characters and one that allowed players to crash each other by spamming them, as well as improvements to copy-protection for various CD, DVD and CD-R drives. Additionally, Blizzard has released the 1.08 update for Starcraft/Broodwar, although it's not yet available as a stand-alone download. [updated]
