Acquired Knowledge has release EZ-PDF 2.0, an add-on for Adobe Acrobat that creates PDF files for any use from any application. The application creates a PostScript file, launches and configures Acrobat Distiller based on a previously selected PDF style, places the resulting PDF file (with optional Portable Job Ticket) into a user-selected folder, and then executes any postprocessing application/AppleScript selected by the user. With the myriad of Apple rebates having expired yesterday at midnight, the Apple Store has revised its prices for the systems affected by those rebates: the Power Mac G4, G4 Cube, and PowerBook G3. Pricing for the PowerMac G4 is now $1,300 for the 400 MHz, $2000 for the MP 450 MHz, and $2500 for the MP 500 MHz. The 450 MHz G4 Cube now starts at $1500, while the 500 MHz model maintains its $2300 price tag (pricing for the high-end Cube remains unchanged as well, at $2800). Only two PowerBook configurations are now available, the 400 MHz and 500 MHz, for $2000 and $2200, respectively. Readers note that the build-to-order (BTO) option is not available for these configurations. [updated]
