Firetask 3.6 ($40) - Firetask helps users organize and prioritize all of their daily tasks. Starting with this release Firetask now requires OS X 10.7 or later and a 64-bit Mac. A problem with today/tomorrow visualizations for due tasks that only occur in certain time zones has been fixed, along with several other minor usability issues. [Download - 18.3MB]

1Password 4.2.2 ($50) - 1Password is a password management utility that allows users to safely store confidential information. The software includes different forms for adding various information such as credit cards, passwords and identities. The v4.2.2 update now lets users edit directly within 1Password mini. Options for suspending and resuming editing are also included, and the AutoSave window has received various improvements. [Download - 40.5MB]

Monosnap 2.1.1 (free) - Monosnap can be used to save screenshots of a full screen, part of a scree, or only a select window. A number of reported video recording bugs have been addressed in this update, along with a bug with In-App Purchases. Additionally, each recorded video is now saved in the Movies folder automatically. [Download - 5.1MB]

MovieSherlock 5.3.3 ($30) - MovieSherlock allows users to download and covert movies from a number of popular video sharing sites, including YouTube, Vimeo, and DailyMotion. Version 5.3.3 now officially includes a Video Capture feature, complete with dock notifications and a noticeable button for activation. A bug that resulted in poor MP3 audio quality has also been resolved. [Download - 6.1MB]

Dropshare 2.2.1 ($3) - Dropshare is a menu bar app that files can be dragged to for instant uploads to a personal server. In v2.2.1 users can now use a personal design for their landing page. The connection test functionality has also been updated, and files can now be dragged and dropped from other applications. Micromat MacCheck released for free

Micromat, the developers of TechTool Pro, today announced a new troubleshooting utility called MacCheck. The new product can perform a series of critical tests on Macintosh systems, helping to isolate what might be wrong with a particular computer. The program quickly tests many of the critical systems in a Macintosh computer, including RAM, I/O, Volume Structures, Partition Maps, Batteries, and RAID systems. Hyundai Sonata 2016 gains CarPlay

The 2016 Hyundai Sonata can now be upgraded to incorporate Apple's CarPlay mobile technology, which augments the built-in infotainment system in the car to incorporate many iPhone features, such as Apple Maps and Siri voice control of navigation and other smartphone functions. The upgrade is accomplished through an SD card owners can obtain from their local Hyundai dealer. Dish providing on-site iPhone repair services

Dish has expanded into the iPhone repair industry. Available today, the satellite television company's "Smart Phone Repair" routes a technician directly to a customer's door. DISH's network of technicians in all 50 states will repair cracked screens and replace batteries on Apple's iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6 and 6 Plus. India rejects Apple's refurb request

Apple's request to the Indian government to be allowed to sell refurbished iPhones has been rejected, a move that will hurt the company's efforts to attract budget-oriented consumers. Opposition to the importation of refurbished iPhones is said to have been led by local smartphone makers (and, it should be noted, Samsung), who feared that lower-cost iPhones would undermine the government's own mandates on manufacturing phones in India, and trigger a flood of used electronics into the marketplace, driving prices generally downward. Currently, Apple has just two percent of the smartphone market there, and is also applying to the government for permission to open directly-controlled Apple Stores. Amazon Prime Now available via website

Amazon's Prime Now rapid delivery service is now available to use from the web, giving users an alternative to using the normal mobile app. Available as a free option for Prime subscribers in certain areas, the web-based service continues to offer the same selection of goods as the mobile version, and is still free for deliveries within two hours, $8 for within one hour. http://amzn.to/1UvqYgi
