Piezo 1.2 ($10) - Piezo is a simple audio recoding tool that can capture audio from almost any Mac app. The software requires almost no configuration beyond selecting the audio source, however, options for setting the recording name and audio format have been included. Version 1.2 now tracks Skype's input and output devices, for simplified VoIP recording, and features a Play-thru toggle in the Record menu. [Download - 2.9MB]

Bean 3.1 (free) - Bean is a basic word processor that offers greater simplicity than larger programs, but more features than basic text editors. The software includes a live word count and an Inspector panel with various formatting options. In the latest release, the Zoom Control will display a slider in the status bar, and a Full Format menu item has been added to the Date/Time toolbar. Additionally, a number of minor bugs have been addressed. [Download - 3.1MB]

PhotoStyler 6.4 ($30) - PhotoStyler can be used to add different effects and filters to digital images. The software includes effects like scratches, sepia tone, photo frames, and shadows, each with customizable parameters for adjusting the overall effect. The v6.4 update includes a new sharing library that reintroduces Flickr and Facebook posting, as well as a fix for a rare crash. [Download - 32.8MB]

Dropbox 1.5.2 (free) - Dropbox is a desktop utility that creates a special Finder folder that automatically syncs with an online web storage account. This can be used to backup files to the cloud, or to quickly synchronize files between multiple computers. The update addresses several issues, including a problem that prevented the "lazy" install from working on OS X 10.4. A rare bug where Dropbox would fail to notify user of their own changes has also been resolved. [Download - 21.5MB]

WiFi Explorer 1.3 ($2) - WiFi Explorer is a tool that can identify channel conflicts that may affect the connectivity and/or performance of a home network. Additionally, the software includes tools for finding open, ad-hoc, and rogue access points, as well as for retrieving basic network details. Version 1.3 includes several new filter controls, as well as an updated vendors database and other minor fixes. [Download - 0.5MB]
