TextExpander 3.1 ($35) - SmileOnMyMac has introduced a new 3.1 version of TextExpander, its customizable typing shortcut tool for the Mac. The new release adds hotkeys to activate TextExpander and to open the Search Snippet function. Improved curser position handling and search functionality is also included, along with support for typing with the Keyboard Viewer or Virtual Keyboard. [Download - 4.4MB]
Metal 1.0 ($70) - Metal is a new Final Cut Pro tool that allows editors to add high-quality metallic titles to any FCP project. The effect can be done simply by typing in text and rendering, which results in titles that appear to be cut from blocks of steel, chrome-plated steel, copper, or diamond plate. Aside from text, users can also upload and alter logo artwork. [Download - N/A]
DiskWrangler 3.1 ($25) - PandaWare has upgraded its keyboard-based file launcher and browser utility, DiskWrangler 3.1. The new version offers a series of performance improvements for use with Snow Leopard, along with an improved user interface. ConceptDraw MindWave 2.0 ($200) - ConceptDraw MindWave 2.0 works as a mind mapping and brainstorming tool for Google Wave. Features in v2.0 include improved overall functionality and new shortcuts. TrackballWorks 1.0 (free) - TrackballWorks is a new mouse-customization software designed for use with Kensington’s line of trackballs. The app allows users to assign functions or keyboard shortcuts to trackball functions, and to adjust both the scrolling speed and direction.
