Apple updates Developer tool Xcode, new OS X Server 4.0 preview seed

Apple TV firmware updates with new look, Beats Music, Family Sharing

Foxconn workers in Brazil strike over pay, lack of career structure

Workers at a Foxconn factory in Brazil are on strike, potentially affecting shipments of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Pre-release iPhone 6, 6 Plus reviews generally positive

A number of media outlets have published early reviews of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, which are only officially shipping on Friday. Re/code's Walt Mossberg, one of Apple's preferred reviewers, calls the iPhone 6 "the best smartphone on the market, when you combine its hardware, all-new operating system, and the Apple ecosystem whose doors it opens." He notes that the battery lasted about 14 to 15 hours in testing, doing far better than the 8 to 10 of the iPhone 5s. On the 6 Plus, Re/code's Lauren Goode comments that while she doesn't like large phones, its battery lasted over a day when screen brightness was set to 50 percent.

Foxconn operating 'around the clock' trying to meet iPhone 6 demand

Foxconn -- Apple's main manufacturer for the iPhone - has 100 dedicated assembly lines in Zhengzhou operating around the clock in an attempt to meet preorder and launch demand for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, say sources for the Wall Street Journal. "We have been churning out 140,000 iPhone 6 Plus and 400,000 iPhone 6 every day, the highest daily output ever, but the volume is still not enough to meet the preorders," one source says. "For iPhone 6 Plus, we are still ramping up the production line. Another reason for the limited supply is the shortage of 5.5-inch displays." While Foxconn is simply handling the majority of iPhone 6 units, it's the only manufacturer of the 6 Plus.

Texas court finds CBS infringes upon Personal Audio LLC's patent
